Jay didn't call out an entire fanbase and I am not asking him to do it here. Is there some insecurity here thinking that you would be included in this group that he is calling out? That's your problem, not mine. I will tell you one thing. The people that would be called out are not giving all the support they can. People that scream the loudest usually act the least.
Not insecure at all, I just don't outside of a handfull, that a devoting a blog to it is justified. You create more harm than good IMO. You will just create more of something that isn't really there. Sometimes it's better to let the fools go unnoticed, by calling them out you are giving them credit that someone is listening. I was critical of TB when he wasn't playing well. I think he has played well since georgia state. Was it the play calling, was it TB? Was it a combination of both? I know this, id rather have a discussion about the backup QB than praying to god we never have to see him. At least we have a backup QB that as seen as capable, a lot of teams don't. I'm sure TB heard the critics, and he responded positively like a 5th year senior should.
You know it's mind boggling that people on here have been critical of multiple players from multiple sports over the years, yet when we start critiquing our QB (THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION ON THE FIELD) people's jimmy's get rustled. Why? Isn't that supposed to make someone better? Pretty sure everyone here can filter the comments that are made to being 90% critiquing, 6% ridiculous, & 4% biased hate. This is a message board, people will fling out heat of the moment comments that they don't mean and retract them later on. Just get over it. I will always critique TB, or anyone that struggles, if they deserve it. Guy was mediocre for 3 quarters but came alive late in the game. That's just the truth.
So no, we don't need another Jay blog calling out the fans for criticizing TB's play at times. Hell even Jay/Luke has questioned TB a few times in their articles. This situation is not the same as a multitude of fans wanting probably the most successful LSU HC of all time to be kicked to the curb and shunned out of existence.
I agree with you for the most part. The only problem is what I see as "ridiculous" someone else on here may think is "critiquing." It's really hard to argue who is right or wrong on this. It is subjective. Also, someone who is critiquing should also be opened minded when they get a rebuttle. I see too little of this on here. With that being said, it can be frustrating when you see folks on here who think they know everything who obviously no very little about the game, the X and O's, and the role of each player, but when you are on a message board there are really only two things you can do...A) Try and educate or B) Stay off the message board.
I have no problem with critiquing. Even from people who don't know football. My issue is with those who call this guy mediocre...and suggest he ought not to be the quarterback.
Terrance Broadway's numbers speak for themselves. He will leave UL in the top three of virtually every quarterback career category. He will break records we didn't think would be broken.
And he will have done it in fewer than three full years.
PASSING ATTEMPTS 5th...will finish 3rd
COMPLETIONS--3RD...will probably finish second
YARDS PASSING--2ND behind Jake
COMPLETION PERCENTAGE--First...and it's not close
PASSING EFFICIENCY---Currently first. Very close with Gautier
TOTAL OFFENSE--THird. Will pass Mitchell and Delhomme for first, barring injury
TOTAL OFFENSE PER GAME---First. And it's not close
PASSING TOUCHDOWNS..Second behind Jake
PASSING YARDS PER GAME...Currently second...could finish first. Not far behind Jake
Yeah, he's mediocre. And, he shouldn't be our quarterback. Those who want to critique, carry on. Those who want to downplay what he's accomplish to the point of disrespect, shut up.
Had a great career. He is struggling this year in the passing game vs the standards he set.
Also not TB's fault that the corner fade in the endzone wasnt complete....to Eli. One of the shortest players on the field and we throw a fade to him. Not a fan of the playcalling at times but I'm ok with TB leading this offense, it just seems like we get too cute sometimes. Running out the clock at the end of the game and we get a substitution penalty because we are running different personnel packages out. Seriously?
