Name the Beer sold at Football games

My daughter calls me from an NO party and the subject is why UL can serve beer---she says that is against NCAA rules---Dad says we can serve it because we want to and that only NCAA Championship competition forbids alcohol sales---Question---Am I correct and was it served at the NCAA Nat. Bowl game????

From what I know, it is only illegal to sell at NCAA games when the stadium is on the campus. Technically Cajun Field is not on UL's main campus. As far as the title game and beer sales. I do not remember there being a lack of beer at either of the BCS Natl Champs that I went to at the Superdome.

I remember reading that its an unwritten rule that beer is not sold at college football. It could be the on-campus rule though.

BCS games, and probably all bowl games, are not subject to the NCAA alcohol bans because they aren't considered NCAA championship events. Remember, the BCS champion is not the NCAA Champion. And the NCAA doesn't recognize a football champion, never has.
