Thanks for proving my point. Did you say IF and AFL? Thanks again.

I proved nothing, his jersey was retired because of his college career, not his professional.

The guy was a stud at UL, no matter what he did after, that would be like saying that Kevin Brooks sucked because he did not play a long career in the NBA or that Phil Devey was not a successful college pitcher because he never made it to the majors. Both were two of the best players that our school has ever seen in there respective sports, one never played in the majors and the other played a brief stint in the NBA and finished playing in Austrailia and NZ. Both were extremely successfull professionally at lower levels.

Mason, for a college DB was great, his size kept him from the NFL, he went on to play a long career in the Arena League and is widely accepted as the best player at his position in that league.

Does his number deserve to be on the wall at Cajun Field, that can be argued for a long time, but what cannot be argued is why there numbers are retired. Look at Tyrell, he may never play in the NFL at this point it looks like he may not even get a chance, should we pull his name and number down because he may not play there? I don't think so, just like I don't think Damon's should be. Damon was a stud while UL.

I am sorry you did not get to enjoy the years he played here, you obviously missed out on watching a very good one. And if you did follow the Cajuns then, I am sorry you were watching something other then the best cover corner the Cajuns have ever had.

You just compared Mason to a first round NBA draft choice who played there for three years. Thanks again.

These guys were both very good corners but, Tillman was the best cover corner to play at the University of Louisiana!!!!!!

Seriously are you that dense, again I proved nothing, I loved Brooks, but he spent 3 unproductive seasons in the NBA averaging barely over 3 points per game and was shortly then released and had a great career overseas. By your standards Brad Franklin was the best corner we ever had. Not that I have anything against Brad, but just because one guy played at the highest level professionally and another did not does not mean that one had a better college career then another.
