Thread: Television Appearances

  1. Sunbelt Television Appearances

I'm surprised to see that the Kansas State game is an internet only broadcast. I would have thought a Big 12 school visiting a Sun Belt stadium would have warranted an appearance on actual television as part of the "Sun Belt Network" package with CSS/CST.

2009 Ragin' Cajuns Football Television Schedule
    Sept. 12 vs. Kansas State (ESPN360.com) 6 p.m.
    Sept. 19 at LSU (ESPNU) 6 p.m.
Sept. 26 at Nebraska (Fox Sports Midwest PPV) 6 p.m.
Oct. 10 vs. North Texas (Sun Belt Network) 6 p.m.
Nov. 7 at Arkansas State (Sun Belt Network) 2:30 p.m.
Nov. 14 at Middle Tennessee (Sun Belt Network) 3:15 p.m.

I didn't think that was possible, since ESPN360.com shows several games at once. The release from UL says this is an "internet-only broadcast."

Espn360.com is Internet only. ESPN networks often have games on tv that they also show on espn360.com. In fact all of the "Sunbelt Network" games in the past have been on 360. I know....I have 360 access with my cable system. It comes in very handy during college football season. I can watch just about every game that is on any of the ESPN networks somewhere even if regionally shown.

  5. UL Football Football TV Schedule Announced

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns football team will appear in six televised contests during the 2009 season including one live appearance on ESPNU.

When the Cajuns host Big 12-member Kansas State on Sept. 12 the contest will be carried by ESPN360.com as an internet-only broadcast.

That game will mark the first of four straight televised contests for the Ragin' Cajuns.

"I am excited about the opportunity to have our football team and university showcased in the public," said head coach Rickey Bustle. "The high number of televised contests is a testament to how far we've progressed as a program."

UL's meeting with LSU on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Tiger Stadium will be televised by ESPNU with a 6 p.m., kickoff.

The next weekend, at Nebraska (Sept. 26), Fox Sports Midwest will broadcast the game and air it over the network's pay-per-view division to be available nationally on participating satellite and telco systems.

In UL's next outing on Saturday, Oct. 10 against North Texas at Cajun Field the squad will make its first appearance on the Sun Belt Network.

In May of 2009 the Sun Belt Conference announced a partnership with Cox Sports Television (CST) and Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) to air Sun Belt Conference games on their channels with what will be known as the Sun Belt Network.

In the Acadiana viewing area the Sun Belt Network will be carried by CST (cable channel 37).

Louisiana is scheduled for two additional appearances on the Sun Belt Network - Nov. 7 at Arkansas State and Nov. 14 at Middle Tennessee.

Will not ragincajuns.com offer the game and paying there help the university instead of ESPN?

Of course our site will still have the feed as normal, but espn360.com is showing it too. I'm assuming mainly for the KSU fans. I have access to both sites. I get espn360 access free with my cable system as I already stated.
