Instant impact


  The adjustment period after Vernon Wolfe transferred to UL from Hinds (Miss.) Community College back in January was minimal.

For that, he thanks his teammates and coaches as well as those in the community.

"In Lafayette, they just make you feel at home," said the junior wide receiver. "There are no strangers here. It's like you've just been born into a new family. We're like little brothers on this team. They're teaching us the ropes. That's why I love being in Lafayette."

Andrew "Rico" Joseph, a sophomore wide receiver who transferred in the spring from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College, shares the same feeling about his new surroundings.
