So Mullen spends 6 years and finally gets Miss State to a #1 ranking, yet he'll leave after that year to go and do it all again at Florida. Pipe dream of a scenario there. Mullen isn't going anywhere after this year.

Hud made a coaching decision based on utilizing one of his players, who possess a skill-set that should cause him to excel in his read-option based offense. Therefore, COACH Hud threw one of HIS players a bone, in lieu of using an ineffective player under the circumstances. You just might be right about Hud A81, but I doubt it. Coach Hud was just being a good Coach A81. (friendly sarcasm)
I agree in principle with RE06 except on one key point "ineffective."

Haack has been just the opposite, even in an offense not taylored to his strengths.

Agreed. I've been saying this all along. Nixon is the better backup to Broadway. While Haack is the better qb to base the offense around in the spring. Plus, if something were to happen to Haack next season, I feel like the team would adjust better going from a more pocket passing qb to a scrambler rather than the other way around. That's not a main reason Haack should start next year, but it is a factor to be considered.

There are several reasons that Haack should start next year. Not the least among them is that Nixon cannot be depended on to put the needs of his team above his personal pleasure.

Side note: I'm not a big fan of zero-to-sixty discipline.

Side Q: Do mandatory suspensions erase the possibility of redshirting?

Response to side note: One does not get a mandatory NCAA suspension for a first offense.

Answer to side question: Suspensions have no effect one way or the other on redshirting.

Yes, Boom, I suppose it it's ok for you to pull Tech, Tulane, Miss St, or whomever into a conversation about our QB depth chart. You may also pull those schools into a conversation about lasagna if you like.

Imagine having a running game and a passing game. Crazy talk.

The question is, will Nixon, Davis and populists have to beat out haack at his game? Or will haack be forced to try to beat them at their game. That's where I don't think, let's just say "they" are willing to change.
