What's interesting is that, mentally, people begin to pick favorites for skill position starts. Oddly, when your guy isn't coming out in the lead, many think something is wrong. Where in fact, your guy is still great, only someone else has risen above him. It shouldn't matter to any UL fan, other than a relative, who comes out on top... may the best RB come out on top... for the team's sake... and all of us hungry fans.
Facts are facts and then again... some facts mean something. I've never liked, but accepted as another bit of information, the yardage compilation given for a RB or RBs that haven't seen the field much, in college. It is an almost irrelevant statistic... not irrelevant... but almost. I feel like we are looking at a hammer that hasn't hit many nails to prove to us that it's a hammer. Looks like hammer... acts like a hammer... but is it a hammer? The coaches think it's a hammer. I think before the hammer hits a nail, it should first smash the thumb of those who are in doubt. That usually helps confirm it's a hammer. I wonder if Bustle would let some of the concerned fans come to practice, go one-on-one, and try to tackle any one of our backs. That would serve as the hammer on the thumb IMO.
I still have to chuckle at the fanbase when Tyrell came onto the scene. All the talk was of one of our only 3 star recruits recruited at the same time... RB Deon Wallace. Hummm. I have no fear that we have a stud or two in our RB corps. I have absolutely no doubt... I do not need to smash my thumb to recognize a hammer.
