New Kicker Brett Baer
Former DB Frantz Accime
Chester Gosnell--Coach Blanco brought him from CHNI and he started as a true Freshman --He was married to Myra DeCuir and I nominated her for the HC Queen which see won----She was a student and there had never been a married lady as queen----The team finally selected her after they agreed of the number of times that she had taken care of us on the floor of their apartment with a lll too much beer and of the meals we ate there-----He was so upset and she didn't believe it---He did not have the money for her HC dress!!!!! One of the great kickers in the history of the school --He could hit them and was a lefty!!!!!
Robert Fletcher wore # 25 from 1971 to 1975. Fletch was a prolific quarterback at Franklin High but moved to safety in college. One of the hardest hitters to ever play the safety position. I remember the 1975 Louisiana Tech game when their All-American tight end Mike Barber (he really was an All-American - he was even on the Bob Hope All-American show) caught a pass over the middle in the 3rd Quarter and Fletch stuck him. Barber had to be carried off the field on a stretcher in front a hushed Tech crowd. Late in the 4th Quarter, Tech needed to keep possession late in the game. Barber comes back on the field, runs the exact same route, catches the ball for an important first down and Fletch lays him out again. Great play on both sides. Barber showed why he was an All-American. Fletch layed out several receivers during his career.
