UL defensive coordinator Kevin Fouquier loves that football season has started again.
Fouquier just hates that the Ragin' Cajuns, like all other NCAA FBS schools, can only go in helmet and shorts for practice on Thursday and Friday. They can put on shoulder pads for Saturday and Monday's practice before going to full pads on Tuesday.
"I'm glad that we're finally playing football," Fouquier said. "I wish we didn't have to practice in basketball uniforms."
Two newcomers — true freshman offensive lineman Robert Robinson and junior college transfer Tyrell Gaddies — were unable to make it through the first practice on Thursday with the temperatures in the mid-90s. But UL head coach Rickey Bustle still liked what he saw from his 100-plus players.
