LAFAYETTE, LA - The Louisiana IceGators today announced the signing of former NHL draft pick Shane Kenny. In the 1995 Entry Draft, Kenny was selected in the second round (48th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers.

“A player of Shane’s caliber does not come along very often at this level. Obviously he will be a huge addition to our defensive corps. Shane is the type of talent that can teach our younger defenseman the intricate points of being efficient at both ends of the ice. For a player of this size, he has tremendous skill which will be an enormous asset to our power play,” said head coach Ron Handy.
