I dont think that is always the case. In many places if the teams are on the left or right, the home team designation will be on the physical side of the field that they are on. So if the home team is on the west side of the field and the scoreboard is in the north endzone, HOME should be on the left side and not the opposite of where the team sideline is.

As for the bottom line on like espn, etc, I think lots of times they forget that the home team is on the bottom. It seems random at times.

Quick, someone let the Saints know also that their schedule is incorrect. They show all their home games as vs Cleveland, vs Atlanta, etc.
