Look out long term goal should be to expand the stadium to around 45k with new upper decks on the east and west sides. Get to where we are averaging between 38-40k and then we will be in a great position. We do not get thousands of fans from other programs like the sec schools do so realistically we need to find 10-12k new every home game fans. This can be done, but it will take 5-10 more years of sustained success and a few big name wins during that timeframe.

There was a time not too long ago when Cajuns basketball packed the house consistently.

I haven't heard a single promo on either the radio or television that has advertised this game, with huge conference title implications to boot. The sad part is, we all had an idea this game would be huge at the beginning of the year. If the athletic department is expecting fans to just find out about the program on their own or through local media, Buckley's above referenced article should be a great gauge of how bad of an idea that is.
Do you really think Cajun fans didn't know about the game?

Radio and TV advertising is a thing of the past. DVR eliminates commercials and satellite radio is all national broadcasts. All I know is that every time I opened twitter, facebook, etc., I saw talk about the big game coming on Tuesday night.

It takes more than "fans" to grow a program.

Some people are event driven, but never pick up a sports page, couldn't tell you what ESPN 14.20 was but would go to an "event" on a Tuesday if made aware.
