Buckley did not even bother to research that last years Western Kentucky game was in Bowling Green and not Lafayette. The lack of fans was on WKU not us.

I think I've come to the realization that we wil never be consistently high in attendance. There will always be excuses, it's on a school night, LSU is playing at home, we aren't playing anybody, blah blah blah. This city just plain sucks at supporting its sports except baseball and softball.

Wrong. A combination of winning the big games, getting better opponents into Cajun Field, and a few great seasons will get people into Cajun Field. We also have to make Cajun Field the place to be on Saturdays.

Tuesday games suck for our gameday experience but it has it's benefits as well with national exposure and we seem to do pretty well on Tuesday nights, so take that for what it's worth.

With that being said, this city LOVES their football and their is a reason Lafayette supports baseball and softball....mostly because of the above points. The potential is there for 40+ a game but we still have work to do.

we lead the conference in attendance, or at least at the top every year. we argue about under reporting while others report thousands and you can count the people in the stadium. we are doing ok in attendance but until people get over the fact that you cant park at the gate for free and nobody is coming to carry your stuff for you we will stay at about 25-30k.

Is it against NCAA rules to advertise for games or is it just below the athletic department to do so?

I haven't heard a single promo on either the radio or television that has advertised this game, with huge conference title implications to boot. The sad part is, we all had an idea this game would be huge at the beginning of the year. If the athletic department is expecting fans to just find out about the program on their own or through local media, Buckley's above referenced article should be a great gauge of how bad of an idea that is.

and for as much flack ( outside of RAGIN PAGIN) we get here for being opinionated, this board is the one biggest single advertisement our UNIVERSITY has. Even though we disagree, sometimes violently lol, we do so out of LOVE for OUR BELOVED UL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM disappointed with the advertisement as well outside of this board
