We seem to be one of the few schools that can't get rid of coaches. We are signing them to sweetheart contracts. That is an administration problem. We hold no fire under the coaches rears. They are here for life or until they want to go. How many years did we give Stokley? At least he had some success to point to. After 8 years of Busted I see very little to show for it.

"Find a guy who can recruit great athlets much like Jessie Evans had done."

Don't you mean find a guy who can bribe great athletes much like Jessie Evans had done? If Evans is your idea of a model recruiter, I think Kelvin Sampson is looking for a gig.

This topic heats up every year around this time. How can anyone say they've seen no improvement?! Thats absurd guys. My first question to you nay-sayers would be, yes we are losing some very explosive players, but what makes you think that the players we have stepping in are incapable of producing? These guys are not shmucks. Remember how excited all of you were when we landed these recruits? What happened, did they forget the game overnight? The majority of the new starters have on-field, real time, serious game experience. The defense will impress us all, and our athletic reserves will be fine on special teams, a strong point for bustle's staff for years. 6-6, in my opinion, would be disappointing, but for not because i'm tired of losing. Its because i believe, objectively, we have the pieces to win now. Not to mention, who are these hot-shot coordinators and 'big name' HC we're going to hire? And afford? Bustle has done an excellent job laying a strong foundation. He deserves, at least a shot, to take us to the next level.

Right. I'm sure Anthony Johnson and Southall bought those luxury cars they rolled around campus in with their text book stipends.

While Evans put an exciting product on the court, off the court it was a different story. I understand it's tough to get model students how can play ball. I even think Lee has a good team, he just can't coach it. Wasn't there a debate over Anthony Johnson's car and didn't he let another player live with him for a while. It's wrong what goes one but most people do it. It's all about who gets caught.

I say Bustle must go if he does not make it to a bowl. I just doubt we pay the money to do it if he only has one year left on his contract.

Lee needs to go but I have a feeling he will have a good season with this team and earn him a 1 year contract. Like I said before, I think he has the pieces, he just does a poor job of coaching them.

Women's basketball needs to go but I doubt he will be fired either. Jay made a great point on the radio after the last basketball season. When we were losing under Gay Nix nobody was going to games. When we were winning under Kelly Hall, nobody was going to the games. We are losing again under Rogers and nobody is going to the games. It seems that people don't really care enough about WBB to lose all kind of money over a coaching change.

Whatever happens we need to make sure that we will have to money to make a good hire. If this means that we would have to suffer through an extra year of a coach just to be able to pay big money for another then so be it. I don't want to settle for another mediocre coach just b/c we couldn't pay for a good one. I want to win NOW and I'm tired of trying to do it with ____ poor coaching hires and hoping we get lucky with one. I don't want this to seem like I'm bashing Bustle. He has improved this team and brought us up from the very bottom. However, I do think that he has reached his potential at this university. Bottom line is I, like everyone on this board, want to win. I trust that Farmer will make the right decision when the time comes.

Oh....and I think it's time for Walker to step down and let Farmer take the wheel.

Which is true. He has two seasons left to coach on his contract.

You are NEVER in a position to "reload" when your entire athletic budget was at times as low as $7million. That is an insane comment and unrealistic expectation. With that type of budget, it is hard to find good coaches willing to stick around, recruit good players, update facilities and minimize your dependence on money games which usually factor into automatic losses. While 6-6 does get really old, I want this university and community to provide him with better resources before I call 6-6 a reason to be fired. To finalize that, you take where the program was when he inherited it and how many scholarships he had and I find it to be in a much better place than when he arrived.

6-6 would NOT be disappointing because while we do have some talent in the wings replacing the previous guys, they are unproven. McGuire started ONE game and looked overwhelmed at times. He did real well in leading us back and showed great leadership and character but he is no seasoned veteran. RB is a position that none of us truly know what to expect. We are replacing a back who didn't miss blocking assignments, didn't drop passes, fumble, get stupid penalties and didn't know how to fall back when stopped. While there is talent at the position, it is extremely hard to overcome lack of experience. At WR, I believe we will be OK. However, until we know what to expect from our signal caller and RB, I am very concerned.

Otherwise, I agree with your post.
