At some point in the future, we will likely look at McGuire in that light but its too early to do so. Also, its hard to compare him to a QB or WR. However, we will likely call him the best RB we've ever had barring any crazy circumstances. The guy is special. Some of those runs last night are not runs and moves that any back can make.

We could not operate the program in the early games like we did last night as Washington was not eligible until the Boise game and it took him awhile to figure things out mentally. Also, Jacoby Briscoe is a key DL reserve. He is playing well now but had too many mental busts in the early games. That was somewhat to be expected as this is his first year playing. Now playing Tovell at inside LB with Worthy starting at outside LB is something that could have been tried earlier when it became apparent they needed more defensive speed on the field. Some of the young DB's like Watson, Crawford, and Walker are doing well now. They were not ready to play in the earlier games. Also injuries to Johnson and Alexander did stymie the defense as well. Regardless of what might have been, you cannot change the past and now the focus needs to shift to Arkansas State.

espn recap of last night's game. If Elijah's stopping on a dime doesn't get into the Sportscenter Top 10, then it's a dayng shame! http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=11704229

The game was close into the 2nd quarter, until Ringo took that awesome fumble into the endzone. That was the fire starter Hud was looking for. After that, no contest. The first TD by McGuire shocked them initially, but Tx State tightened up and was driving the ball when that sack occurred. A huge game by Ringo. Also, a player that hasn't been talked about too much in a positive way before, that needs some credit for last night is Corey Trim. He played a good game, with some nice tackles and pretty good coverage. Good for him.

IMO, the game wasn't close at any point. They weren't scoring on us and it was only a matter of time before our offense got clicking (even after the McGuire TD on the second play of the game). They didn't have a drive longer than 25 yards until it was 28-3 and the only reason they got the FG was because the Aussie punted a ball backwards.

    "LA-Lafeyette Cruises Past Texas State"

That was the headline. ____ us, right?

Different mentions from ESPN Tuesday night including (but not limited to):
LA-LOUISIANA -Lafayette, UL-Lafayette, Louisiana, Louisiana State, ULL, UL-L

The positive thing however was the constent use of Louisiana by the announcers (minus a few miscues). This is way more important than the graphics shown in my opinion. The mixed messages suck but I was very impressed with the announcers calling us Louisiana.

What happened to Alexander at LB? I would have thought with his speed and experience, he would be the more natural at OLB and leave Worthy at Safety along with Patt as our best players on the field.
