Megan didn't play short stop at Teurlings High. She doesn't have the quickness of the feet for that position long term.

She's quicker than you would think. She's a pretty consistent fielder and her throws are on target every time. I think her defense is ahead of our offense at this point, to be honest.

She'll be in the mix, and she'll probably work some at third and first.

I don't think it's a big stretch to think that the 2010 infield will be completely different than the 2009 infield, other than pitcher and catcher. I would not be surprised to see a new player at every position.

Is Gabriele Bridges leaving? I thought she was a lock at first. No chance for anyone at first for another two years or so I thought.

And where is Melissa Verde going? She is a very good third baseman IMO. She's not going to LSU, too is she? Will she be at second? Do you think Bridges will be at third?

Don't be surprised to see Verde at first base, a newcomer at second, shortstop and third and Bridges at DP. Very unlikely that the infield will look the same in 2010.

I don't see Verde moving to first base. That is highly unlikely, but you may be right about Bridges. We will see what happens in the fall.

Her laterial movement and range is not good as some of the kids coming in this fall. I've watched her play at Teurlings, she is more of a corner infielder in my opinion. Verde is not going anywhere, she is an all conference 3rd baseman. No one has the experience or glove to play the position to move her. The problem was the middle of the infield and I expect some serious competition at those positions this fall.

You are right. Dani Hofer had the same type of hype and had a couple of pretty good years, but nothing "great". Then her last two years she was injured, so who knows what will happen with Fico.

You are right. Dani Hofer had the same type of hype and had a couple of pretty good years, but nothing "great". Then her last two years she was injured, so who knows what will happen with Fico. _

This happens with a lot of players with a lot of hype. They come from regions where the athletic talent is not that good and they dominate. Who knows this girl might come in and be a shut down performer but only time will tell.

But a career ERA of .006 is scary good regardless of what region you are from...
