Louisiana: Former Texas Tech defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt has been hired as a defensive consultant by Mark Hudspeth, according to Thayer Evans of SI.com.

Great move to bring in support. I don't know remember much talk about how good the Tech defenses were. It was always the offense that received the most attention.

The La Tech DC was fired bc of a dumpster fire of a defense at UT, seems to be working pretty well for Tech.

I think there is a big difference from coaching against big 12 offenses and sun belt ones Hope he moves to a 4-2-5 with man coverage

Am I missing something? The D looks the same now as when Stewart was fired. Hard to believe two different DCs schemes and coaching are this bad. Maybe the issue is with the position coaches. Rebowe? Or is Hud overriding the defensive coaches on gameplanning?
