Cajuns Softball Unveils 2015 Schedule

Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns head softball coach Michael Lotief announced the program's 2015 schedule Tuesday morning, featuring 30 home games at Lamson Park, 17 contests against 2014 NCAA Tournament teams and three series against Women's College World Series participants from a season ago.

Idaho State, EIU, McNeese and Hofstra all had very solid records last year (20-30 gms over .500) so that's more than likely 9 optimal RPI games. And of course the games against the perennial powers Bama, Oregon, Baylor and Houston. Also looks like they trimmed some of those rough RPI games from the midweeks.

The staff continues to do a very good job putting a schedule together to maximize the RPI number and get the team exposed to solid teams. They find a nice balance

There are a few inconsistencies between this schedule and some other schedules other teams have released. Nothing all that major, but I like ours better than the others I've seen. I love the fact that the Cajuns are playing 3 major post season teams (Baylor, Houston & Oregon) so close to the end of the season, thus playing great competition to prepare for the post season.

I'm pretty sure it's at the Gulfport Sportsplex. Mike told me it was right off the interstate and this seems to fit the bill.
