Square has updated its Cash_payments app for iOS with the option to send or request money from nearby friends over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). In the past, customers in the US had to initiate a transfer using an email or text message. The former initially felt antiquated, as it_needed to copy_in either cash@square.com or request@square.com to help the company process transactions.
