Cajun Tom I hope you don't mind. . .
75 days until the first football game this year. Can anyone think of a former football player who played for the Cajuns who wore number 75?

Geaux Cajuns
Big Harold Early from Alexandria. 6'4" 265 lbs in 1974. That was a hugh man for those times! Good post blocking offensive tackle.
Wish I could break out the Tulane film to look at ya'll do a number on all-American Charles Hall!!!!!! How about his doing the Ragin---Cajun thing---Or was he really Barry White?????
Glad you remember that Boomer. He was a great tackle to have post for the double team. He was so big, I could almost hide behind him. I wish Harold would come around to the tent. It would be really good to see him again.
DestinCajun:
No doubt the 1974 Tulane game was the highlight of my times at U(S)L. It was an unbelievable night. It was the only time I have ever scene a tunnel of students form for the players to run through for the SECOND HALF. We were getting drinks spilled on us. . . it was like a zoo! We totally outplayed Tulane but lost on a last second field goal with some controversial calls at the end. We had been 0-10 the year before and Tulane was ranked in the top 20. We had to go back after the game but they tell me the escapades on Bourbon Street that night by U(S)L fans are legendary. Just goes to show you how crazy it could be if you give Cajun fans anything to be proud about.
Was that game at the old Tulane Stadium before moving to the Super Dome? Remember the 4th down pass from Jake to Stokely to win the game forget what year? And, let's not forget the legendary pre-game parties in the SuperDome for the Tulane games that were awesome. All the games were like home games for us and we had more fans that Tulane did. Did we quit playing them because they wouldn't come to Lafayette, or did Tulane just not want to play us. I sure wish we were playing them again. Heck 2 or 3 for 1 wouldn't hurt us in the least and give us great New Orleans exposure as well as helping to build an alliance with Tulane for later conference realligment. We can't continue an isolationist policy with regional teams. We are on the outside looking in. We need to be let in the door. It will all balance out later.
It was the last year in the old Tulane Stadium. The game was supposed to be the first game in the Superdome but it was not finished in time. I remember being in the hotel the night before the game hearing a local sportscaster remind his listeners that the last time Tulane played USL the score was like 77-0 and he said "expect the same results tomorrow." Needless to say he was dead wrong about us.
