LAFAYETTE — There are some students who long for summer school.
They even long for it to be longer.
They long to be challenged in the classroom and for “creative discussions” with students who can keep pace with their rhetoric.
For some 80 students from across the state, their longing was abated during a camp for students who are gifted, talented and leaders.
The camp, called Summer Scholars, is held in weeklong sessions in June and sponsored by the University of Louisiana's Center for Gifted Education.
