I'd take him. He is a good coach and recruiter. Only way I wouldn't touch him is if the NCAA comes down on him with some sort of sanctions. Which is very much a possibilty
One of the best college basketball coaches of our lifetime. I remember when he took on UNO, who did not have a player taller than 6'4 was predicted dead last in the Am South, and won the thing his first year. Then had UNO, with hardly any fan support, in the top 20 (fans were actually showing up then). Then made Iowa St. a top 10 type team. Then turned USC around.
If he does not have sanctions following him, he will no doubt win again.
I'd take him and ask questions later.....
Look at the SBC coaches........
John Brady-----------Final Four
Mike Jarvis-----------Elite 8, Sweet 16(2 schools), NIT championship
Isiah Thomas---------NBA Playoffs
Ronnie Arrow---------2nd round NCAA tourney, has taken 2 schools to the tourney
Ken McDonald--------2nd round NCAA tourney
Kermit Davis Jr.-------1 NCAA tourney appearance
Johnny Jones---------1 NCAA tourney appearance
I think our next coaching hire in basketball better be a darned good one, and I think that Floyd would fit in perfectly.
If the NCAA clears him, TAKE HIM IMMEDIATELY because someone else WILL.
