If you think using''Louisiana'' is legal, you my friend are wrong. Contact the state and find out. I was curious about the law so I contacted them to get it. I told them they need to enforce the law or do away with it and grant you guys or NWST flagship status...NSU is the oldest and y'all are the biggest. In the email I received...''no single institution has the legal right to use Louisiana, University of Louisiana, UL or U of L for any reason''...

Dream on, fact is you CAN use a reference name to refer to an "official" entity.

The very edict that set this whole thing up did just that with it's stand alone use of "system" to refer to the "University of Louisiana System" http://www.ulsystem.net/assets/docs/...ws_8_30_04.pdf

The common use reference term Louisiana is far to generic and free domain to make any claim against.

Well really I don't care, I just have fun with the name thing. Deep down you know you are the same as you've been the last hundred years...a regional school. You will never have your games on radio, tv coverage by news stations, or people calling u the mythical UL outside your 30 mile invisible line around lafayette. To be able to carry the states name you need something other people will envy. I hate to put y'all down cuz you don't control it but the ugliest campus in the state is between yall and McNeese. Ive never been to SLU though. Facilities, maybe Id take the IPF but thats about it. I know ours arent great, but they don't look like they're going to fall apart.

Aparently you haven't been to our campus in a while. Almost every building has been renovated. Our campus is actually quite nice now.

As for us never become anything more than a regional school you are already wrong. We made national news last year with Tyrell Fenroy. We have been to the College World Series. We have been to March Madness. We have been to the Women's College World Series. While people may not know us as UL YET, they certainly know who the Ragin' Cajuns are. Thats more than you can say about ULM who will never even be a regional school. I'm not sure people in your neighboring towns know there is a school in Funroe. You better place a call to your Dean of Pharmacy and thank him. Without it your school may not exist.

I know it must hurt to live in our shadow and always striving to be us but you never will. Just save yourself from making yourself sound like a complete idiot and quite posting on this site.

By the way I enjoyed rushing YOUR field when we killed ya'll in football a few years ago for a share of the SBC Title.

You're about as ignorant as they come......UL does get TV coverage hotshot. And I think we have one of the most historic, beautiful looking campuses around. I don't think the Monroe campus even comes close T-Boy............

Nah.. I believe its a Monrovian.. Who the hell would pose as one? Thats even worse than being stuck with those disgusting colors.. Anyway, this guy wreaks of ignorance and jealousy. Not to mention, just because you guys have a few new buildings doesn't make your campus nice. Get some history under your belt, then cast the first stone. I bet my life you've never even step foot on UL's actual campus.
