US video streaming service Redbox Instant announced today that it is to shut down on October 7, after signup was disabled for_three months_due to a security problem. A message posted to its website simply said that you’ve got three_days left to stream before it closes forever: Thank you for being a part of Redbox Instant by Verizon. Please be aware that the service will be shut down on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
