Nate Dixon is making a move from one Sun Belt conference basketball program to another. He will only have to travel just over two hours to do so.

The University of Louisiana-Lafayette has offered Dixon an assistant coaching position under Robert Lee. If the recommendation is approved by the U of L Board of Supervisors, Dixon would start on July 1.

Dixon leaves UNO, where he served as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at UNO for the past two seasons under Joe Pasternack. He has previous experience in the Sun Belt Conference, having worked as an assistant at UL-Monroe in 2006 and 2007. Dixon also worked under Billy Donovan at Florida from 2003-2005.

UL is also set to hire former Nicholls State player James Williams as an assistant under Lee. Williams was a teammate of Lee's when both played for the Colonels.
