MIDLAND, Texas - Northwest Arkansas still can't figure out how to beat Midland's Jason Fernandez.

Fernandez, a right-hander, pitched a complete game six-hitter as the RockHounds defeated the Naturals 4-1 on Thursday at Citibank Ballpark. Fernandez had earned the decision in a 7-2 victory May 29 in Springdale.

In that game, Fernandez allowed 2 earned runs on 9 hits in 6 innings. Fernandez (6-4) was even better Thursday, pitching his first complete game in 11 starts this season.

Fernandez, an 11th-round draft choice out of the University of Louisiana in 2006, retired the first 10 Naturals he faced. Northwest Arkansas (24-26) scored the game's first run, but that was a momentary blip.
