One of the things a good salesman does is find out why he lost a sale. UL should be post interviewing or calling the ones we lose and try to find out why they went elsewhere. You will never probably get the whole truth but a pattern may emerge showing why the choice is made to go somewhere else.
I know what the post said. I just don't think it makes any sense. To think that our coaches would step over a local kid to get one from Florida... JUST to say "we got one from Florida"... doesn't make any sense!!!
Did you ever stop for a moment and consider that in fact maybe its the local kid that decided he wanted to go out of town to make it appear as though it was a better offer because it came from an out of town program?
Sometimes these posts drive me nuts!
A large percentage of 17-18 year old local high school students have nothing but terrible impressions of UL football.
That, along with the other reasons mentioned (wanting to leave your parents house), is why we go to Florida and Texas more.
Besides those states being loaded with talent, there's a good chance nobody's ever heard of us (which is a good thing, considering the Baldwin years).
They are not stepping over local kids, they aren't in the game with Louisiana kids so they want it to look like they got a better kid from Texas or Florida. Get it?
Tulane football is bad and you can argue not near as bad as UL, but you cant argue how much more that Tulane education is worth compared to UL.
There aren't many programs that a kid can choose over UL and it not be a better option no matter how much we tend to think UL is the best option.
God, this conversation again? Why don't we turn this into a name recognition and SBC respect argument, too? Beat the three dead horses with the same stick.
