If you look at the 4 Gstate games to date, you should be impressed with how they have played so far. Their record is just 1-3 with the only win coming against a good FCS program in Abilene Christian, who beat Troy on the road this year. They did open with 3 home games, but just looking at the stats and the score by quarters, they will be a very tough out for us.

Assuming Gstate play at the same level this Saturday, we will have to be at the top of our game to win. They gave Air Force a really good game (38-48) and were up 14-0 at the half against Washington, before losing big 45-14...due to 4 TO's in the second half. AF, as you probably know beat Boise this weekend 28-14. For me, the stat lines and score by quarters is what jumps out at you. They gave us a really good game last year. Most of their losses last year were very close games.

These are facts about the game (correct or not). Two teams met and played under the exact conditions. Why would you grant us the "slow start" excuse and not them?

Why can't this forum discuss reality and not constantly blur things with sugar coated wishful thinking?

We are highly likely to have a battle on our hands this weekend. Georgia State is playing well... and we are not. That is pure reality. It doesn't have anything to do with what I want or hope to have happen. I'll be there. I'll see what I see.

Rick, I'm going to disagree with you on Abilene Christian. Its not a good FCS program, its a program playing its first year in the FCS. The fact that they defeated Troy speaks to how bad they are this season. McNeese and Southeastern will win by at least 20 points over Abilene Christian. Georgia State is improved because of Arbuckle and that is it. They are pretty much the same team as last season in every other area. I watched that game and Georgia State was terrible.

I wouldn't bet on us beating Troy at Troy the way we are playing now. So, them going to Troy and winning speaks for itself, in my eyes.

GState has some good receivers and a good QB. You don't need much more than that to give us all the trouble we can handle. They played us tough last year too. They are playing well now, we are not playing well now, so we'll have our work cut out for us this Saturday.

Well, every game we play in the Sun Belt will not be easy this season. But lets not jump off the cliff yet.

-------Well my prediction was 7-5 with a worried 6-6----Some reasons for the negative were losing the glue of the offense in Huval along with Sturgent----Didn't realize until the pro cuts how good our 2 TEs from last year were----Also I thought that Nixon had become the real deal and could really get some playing time like against Tulane-----On Defense we lost our best player in Anderson and we brought back the same philosophy which doesn't seem to be our best option----What really hurt us were the guys lost that left the team and the guys that didn't make it!!! Thought we would lose to OM and BS but even though my fears were of Tech and their great transfers and recruits ability, I fell for the projections on the board!!! Come on 7-5 and a bowl!!!

Not jumping off a cliff T, just saying we have to play better to win games in our conference.
