It might be considered the opposite of antidisestablishmentarianism and not nearly as long but with perhaps an even more colorful origin. I'm talking about the word laodicean and how I woke up this morning to learned something about the word.
I thought it was a proper noun and now I find out it is an adjective, but without going into the origin of the word I am fascinated with its meaning and why (or how) it came to mean what it means.
Oh and congratulations to the 13-year-old who took top honors in the 82nd annual Scripps National Spelling Bee by correctly spelling the winning word "laodicean."
Now if I could only spell the girls name who won.
