UL verbal pledge Quaide Weimerskirch named Homecoming king before kickoff, then scored six TDs in helping his team beat state powerhouse Madison County 58-37.

Last night was the midway point of the season and he went over the 1,000-yard mark. He's got 1,051 yards and 13 TDs on 130 carries.

He's a great kid! I told him you were from this area and you would do good stories on him.

Yeah, he and I have talked quite a bit. I've been really high on him since his sophomore year when he entered a game I was covering as a backup and ended up rushing for 100 yards and returning a kick 95 yards for a TD.

I truly believe the Cajuns are getting a steal with Quaide. He's a lot better than people give him credit. His team has struggled this season against a tough schedule, and he still has 1,000 yards through five games. People know he's getting the ball and they still can't stop him.

Stereo types are common in college football when it comes to RB,DB and WR for white kids. Unless of course you are talking about programs like Georgia Tech that run the triple option. Keep an eye on them, they could pull the trigger on him late in the game.

Another one to keep an eye on is Cole Kelly, Junior Quarterback at Teurlings. He is leading the state in passing and is looking a lot like Jake Delhomme; except he is currently 6'7" and still growing.......

Honestly don't believe hud would even recruit him. Doesn't fit his "system"

What system? I haven't seen anything that looks systematic at all this year.

I agree. He can sling the ball like very few QBs at the high school level. Saw him play against Notre Dame and a couple thing stood out.

    1. He often releases the ball before his receivers are looking/making their cut. More times than not, he was right on the money with the pass. You dont see that often at the high school level.
    2. I know its partly because of his size but he is 100% a pocket passer. He kind of reminds me of Van Cleeve. He will stand tall and deliver the ball but he just cant move at all.
