Football Coaches Summer Tour

This really is a function of organizations like the RCAF and local alumni groups or clubs, since the RCAF did not exist until recently, not a real surprise...

I would agree that it needs to become a viable part of the future...

Also, it is not always the football coach that speaks, sometimes baseball or basketball coaches are speakers as well :-)

No offense but the Alumni Association has zero visibility. That is unless they are emailing me about their galas or a ski trip.

I was referring to how other programs do it, what is usual and customary elsewhere. I am not a UL Alum...

Bustle came to New Orleans I believe his first year. He spoke at Charley G's on Vets at about 3:00 on a workday if memory serves. Perhaps it was a fiasco so no more have been done? It needs to be on a Saturday or at least a time of day where working stiffs can make it.

I went to that one, and I don't think it was a fiasco at all. I think the turn-out was decent - not overwhelming, but not a bust. But I thought it was pretty good considering it was the first and it followed the Baldwin disaster. I was expecting to see this become a regular annual tour.

Tapping the imagination of the fanbase is key. Don't underestimate the value of hearing Bustle is in New Orleans, Bustle is in Hammond, Bustle is in Shreveport, Bustle is in Dallas . . .

Yea that's true. I didn't have a chance to attend but RaginFan2 did and said turnout was decent. If they would have had it at night or after business hours attendance would have been better. I believe it is worth a shot.

_ We cannot afford not to send the coaches on a tour. It isn't a big bucks situation. Going to a good NO venue and a good Houston venue and doing some promotional things is a price that easily pays for itself. New season ticket sales and RCAF memberships would come out of every trip if they were promoted properly. I find it hard to believe we don't have this in the works. _

Thats awesome. I can picture him in a banquet room where there are more attendees than teeth.
