A group of engineering students from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be constructing and installing a giant game of Scrabble at Parc Putnam, 813 Lafayette Street, in downtown Lafayette.
The students will work on the 10-foot by 10-foot game between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. as part of the Creativity Everywhere community service initiative.
The project is made possible through Downtown Lafayette and the Lafayette Public Library System. Players can use their library cards to "check out" the letter tiles from the Jefferson Street Library Branch.
The game will be ready for play by Saturday afternoon. The game will be available for "check out" during normal business hours of the Jefferson Street Branch: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.
