Poirrier is gonna have to figure his bat and glove out to take Bostick's job at 2B. He batted near 70 pts less and fielded 35 pts less. Also Poirrier will be a Jr again next year since he was JUCO and redshirted last year. Bostick will be a Sr. He also really got his game going in the second half of the season after struggling mightily early.

    Second- Bostick
    Short- Fontenot

    Pitchers- Same

If Will Long is our DH next year, then we are really in trouble.

I see your point but I am very concerned about our lack of power next year..We have too many slap hitter's(Fontenot,Bostick,Olasin,Fuse)plus I would not consider Goulas a power hitter.. I just do not think you can win alot of games with that many guys with little or no power especially with a pitching staff that will probably be a little thin..Anyway back to my point, keep you eye on Jordan next year..Last year he was projected to be our 3 hitter and hit double digit homeruns..He got off to a slow start but finished very strong..I predict he will be our surprise next year...

Coach said yesterday that Long will spend time in the OF next year.

How much grinding can an axe take before it doesn't exist anymore?

Did you see Long's fielding % this year? It was below .800! That is really bad. No harm trying him in the OF.

i have heard that a few of the starters from this year are not going to be returning such as smith and benzel.. i feel that masch could of made a bigger impact this year maybe try him out at DH or first and hope that thad can get his hitting back

I think that is a good place for him. He can hit (just not as a DH), and maybe, just maybe, the errors have really gotten in his head and a change in position will do a great deal of good for him and the team.

I will say that after missing at least the first half of the season with the thigh problem, Long wound up hitting .328 for the season, which was third on the team behind Travis Whipple and Greg Fontenot.
