Police in Ville Platte are investigating what they are calling a "suspicious death" after a woman's body was found inside her High School Drive home.
Family members have identified the woman as 29-year-old Latoya Richard.
Richard's sister, Lakeshia Richard, said she was called to the home by a neighbor after Richard didn't meet her 10 year-old daughter at the bus stop.
That's when Lakeshia Richard said she kicked down the door. Once inside she said she found Latoya's body on the floor in a bucket of water. "I had to pick her head out of the bucket. She was foaming at the mouth and I knew she was gone," said Richard.
Lakeshia said the family doesn't know who would harm her sister, but she said they are leaving the investigation in the hands of police.

"It's just so surreal you know. I wasn't expecting to find my sister like that and then to think that she'd been left there like that for hours is not right," said Richard.
Police say they are waiting on a coroner's report to determine the cause of death.
