Inconsistent offense has been a bigger problem then the defense... the lack of clutch hits has hurt them all season.

Ballgame folks...
The sad thing is that it was set up for us had we taken care of business on Friday.
Stevie p said it was a very successful season. i disagree. Great year said, and again i disagree. Nice to be in the top 25 all year, but very disappointed. ithought we had a legitimate shot at the national championship coming in. My bad.

Our biggest need for next year is a defensive short stop. Had she made the throw to first, we have 2 out. We got the next batter out that would have ended the inning. Instead, the barrage of hits did us in. Something similar happened in the first game v. Baylor. That and our lack of hitting. Slap hitters with the infield playing 5 ft. from the batter is not going to get you much. Our pitching will be solid. We need hitters for next year.
Totally disagree...Runyon just can't make plays at short...can't blame the pitcher for that. Brignac did wear out, but was great in the first game and most of this one. Cuevas gave up a couple of ground balls that should have been outs after a strike-out. The triple was the killer, but we should have been out of the inning by then. Of course, hitting is the main problem. Bourgeois is very good, but without hitting and defense, it would be hard for her to overcome. To be fair, Runyon did play with a lot of heart considering her bad back. It is to be admired.
Congrats Cajuns on a successful season by almost any standard!
Not what we had hoped for going into the season, but nothing to be ashamed of. Hopefully next year we'll have a HEALTHY Ashley Brignac to go along with Bourgeois. Hitting has to improve, obviously, but I plan on watching them in the WCWS again next year.
I'm sure this loss hurts, but should provide plenty of motivation going into next year.
GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great year still!!
We finished in the top 32 in the country. About 250 other teams across the country wish they finished where we did.
When Brignac was signed I thought her Junior year would be our best shot at a WCWS championship. I still believe that. We lose Hubbard & Runyan and that is it. If we can stay healthy I think we have a very strong team next year.
