Championship Game UL vs. Baylor

_ I think you summed it up nicely. The returning players need to improve on defense and at the plate. But, if I were a great HS player out there right now, I'd want to come to UL, challenge for a spot, and jump behind this pitching staff. _

We have two good bats in the 2009 class that will compete for the SS and 2nd position. We also have our Catcher of the future in that class. There are also several kids on the team right now that could make the hitting adjustments eventually in Murphy, Ray,Granger,Goff and Dupont. BTW, the Cajuns have a commitment from their next super arm for the 2010 class.

I don't speak to parents a whole bunch, but I do speak to our athletes, and I can assure you they know I appreciate and support them. This is why I spend time supporting the program. Again thanks.

Hey Cajun T I noticed there was no mention of Heidi Pizer. She was a prize recruit who can play SS and looks to me to have the most potential of last years frosh. class.

And who is this next super arm in the 2010 class.

Know not much about the game but a pre-walkup/shift by the infield for the slap hitters creates huge gaps for a regular hitter---thought I saw once this year a slapper just let one rip hitting regular after showing slap------anyway could our slappers be taught to do this---In baseball over the years I have seen the fake bunt turned into a regular hit !!!!

Heidi should be in that mix, but her final position might not be SS. All I can say about the 2010 commitment is she throws around 68 mph as junior this past season and was 18-1 on the season.
