Deputies say they arrested 63-year-old, Opelousas man after he allegedly misused the 911 system by reportedly calling the emergency line eighteen times.
Taken into custody was Olan "Arlen" Deville, whom deputies said made the multiple calls to 911 requesting medical assisistance only, but refusing medical attention once paramedics arrives.
"Due to Mr. Deville's aggressiveness towards the paramedics, a deputy was requested each time Mr. Deville requested medical attention," St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Megan Vizena said.
Deville is charged with 18 counts of criminal mischief and public intimidation and is currently held at the St. Landry Parish Jail with a $6,500 bond.
