Anyone know?
I assume you meant the Chapel Hill regional? That is where Georgia is playing
The Columbus regional also started yesterday, scores:
Game 1: BYU - 6, Kentucky - 2
Game 2: Ohio State - 3, Canisius - 0
Chapel Hill scores
Thursday:
Game 1: No. 1 Georgia 3, No. 4 Radford 1
Game 2: No. 2 North Carolina 21, No. 3 Campbell 2 (5 innings)
Friday (so far):
Game 3: No. 1 Georgia 6, No. 2 North Carolina 0
This is not a big deal that these regionals started early, just the way it was planned out.
Just seemed odd that 2 of 8 regionals start on thursday when all the others start on Friday...also odd that I made a mistake, which rarely happens....are you sure Turbine didn't use his Superman admin powers to change "Chapel Hill" to "Athens" in my above post? That's a way more logical explanation...
My guess is because BYU can't play on Saturdays (religious reasons), so they start it early and if they make it to Saturday, skip that day, and then continue on Sunday.
The Chapel Hill regional...no idea why they started early.
Campbell also doesn't play games on Sundays. It is a Baptist university.
Campbell don't play on Sunday and BYU don't play on Saturday. What would happen if both teams were in the same regional and are matched up after Friday......just a thought.
