That is because you could still used the barns at Blackham. As long as the building is paid for and in place, that is were rodeos should be held. Did the P-MAC host a rodeo? How about WKU's basketball arena or UNO's arena? The answer is no, because of the damage that can be done to indoor arenas like the Cajun Dome. To host a rodeo at the Cajun Dome is counter productive, were is the funding for repairs? There is no funding for repairs now. This is why the Cajun Dome should be left out of the Rodeo business, we already have tractor pulls, circus, motor cross and monster trucks. All these events cause damage to the Cajun Dome in the long run and without funding the repairs are not being kept up.

I firmly believe the monster truck shows at the Cajundome should be stopped. The Cajundome is too small of arena for the trucks and it is a disaster waiting to happen.

I went to one of those monster truck event about 15 years back (the one and only) and the vibration caused some of the foam on the ceilig to fall. And the mud all over the vip boxes. Not a place for tractor pull or monster trucks.......

Also remember that the use of the Cajundome as a shelter post Hurricane Katrina aged the facility considerably as the facility was not designed to be a shelter. How much of the damage done then has gone either undetected or unrepaired?

FEMA should have kicked Lafayette some funds for the repairs. Were they denied a request or did they not even apply?

People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones but I agree. It was probably a rush job and will not be the final logo. I think they should keep all the old stuff. Why else would you buy the rights to the name IceGators?

The new owners prob only bought the naming rights, and naming rights only. They are going to have a new logo if they are smart, b/c it will cause fans to have to buy all new merch, and not be able to bring out their old stuff!

They will be able to tell the old fans from the new fans that way!

How could you buy the naming rights and not the logo rights? I'm not a lawyer so I don't know but I guess it is possible. I understand about the new merchandise but it's been five years. I would think most of that stuff is old, to small for most or simply gone. I'm not opposed to a new logo but I don't like this one. However it is on par with the rest of the SPHL. I believe it is a league law to have a hockey stick in the logo.

Alright, look people. Once and for all: IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!! USE THE ORIGINAL LOGO!!! Tweak the uniform if you have to, but no one's going to come up with a better logo than the ORIGINAL!!!

Got an answer on the setup for the rink. They are technically renting the boards and setup from the city. They could just give them to the team, so the LCG is renting them out for very cheap.
