Even back when UL played there in the Bo Lamar days, it was considered a dump. I remember reading Sports Illustrated articles about games played at Blackham and their negative reference to the facility by opposing coaches, from the dressing rooms to the court. I did like the intimacy and closeness to the court. But, in today's world, it woudn't work. It would hurt recruiting and lower the level of athletics at UL. We have a great facility in the Dome. We just need to put out a winning product on the floor and start to fill the Dome. Lafayette and the Acadiana area is well large enough to average 10,000 - 12,000 per game. Far smaller university cities have that kind of attendance, so it is not too much to expect. It is up to UL to promote and field not only a winning team, but one that is fun to watch and appealing to the fans.

Duke plays in a HS gym w/ no A/C! You are right in the fact that it matters more of what you put on the floor. But a sold out Blackham would literally be shaking!!!

Cameron got A/C in 02. Also most HS gyms dont hold over 9000. I understand what you are saying though.

As long as you get my point that the place isn't that great at all. But that many fans in that small space makes a lot of noice and everyone is right there on the court. The only reason I don't like the dome is b/c everything is so spread out.

People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones but I agree. It was probably a rush job and will not be the final logo. I think they should keep all the old stuff. Why else would you buy the rights to the name IceGators?

No, I highly doubt they would put a first draft logo on their site. That is gonna be the logo. You dont just put random early editions of logos. If they didnt have something, they would have just put some sort of countdown maybe to an unveiling or something more mysterious than a logo.

That logo looks like some random male stripper gator, all buff with no shirt on, biting through sticks and what not. Grr I'm coming to get you. LOL its terrible

LOL! I don't like the human alligator breaking a stick. I know there is potential new merchandise to be sold with a new logo but that one stinks. I would imagine many old IceGator fans no longer have their jerseys and T-shirts or they can't fit in them anymore = - ). I would keep the old logos or quickly get a better one.
