Even back when UL played there in the Bo Lamar days, it was considered a dump. I remember reading Sports Illustrated articles about games played at Blackham and their negative reference to the facility by opposing coaches, from the dressing rooms to the court. I did like the intimacy and closeness to the court. But, in today's world, it woudn't work. It would hurt recruiting and lower the level of athletics at UL. We have a great facility in the Dome. We just need to put out a winning product on the floor and start to fill the Dome. Lafayette and the Acadiana area is well large enough to average 10,000 - 12,000 per game. Far smaller university cities have that kind of attendance, so it is not too much to expect. It is up to UL to promote and field not only a winning team, but one that is fun to watch and appealing to the fans.
