We did look much better when we started blitzing. Wonder why it took so long for that to happen.

I'm irritated that we've kept this defensive philosophy for a while now. It's atrocious. TB has definitely got something wrong going on. I believe the coaches are giving him a free pass through these first few games, and are waiting to see what he'll do in the SBC. If it doesn't click for him against Georgia State... we absolutely have to give Haack a shot.
I'm pretty tired of jump balls being thrown and holding my breath on every passing play.
That's just it. That second half was not because our defensive personnel all of a sudden showed up. We started blitzing, shooting through gaps, shedding blocks and getting penetration. That should be the objective every game from the git-go. The issue I have believing this defense (the prevent version) is ok with the SBC, is seeing how many times last year they kept some SBC slugs in the game by letting their QB have anything they wanted underneath all game long. If TB doesn't get his ____ together, or Haack doesn't help, that defense isn't going to win a game for us. There are times you have to have defenses change games in your favor.
We're sitting here talking about "possibly being ok" against the SBC. We should manhandle them at this juncture. I'm a little concerned.
So I went to sleep last night at 9, I was offshore and did not want to stay up for a disappointment. I'm guessing I did the smart thing!
The cure to the problem is Sun Belt play. Watch and see.
I miss Van Cleave, he racked up yards with no recievers at least when everyone knew we were throwing it.
