For UL's baseball team, this season marked the 10th anniversary of the 1999 club that became the first in program history to win an NCAA Regional championship and advance to a Super Regional.
Similar success has eluded the Cajuns this year as inconsistencies at the plate, on the mound and in the field have haunted the team.
Even with all the ups and downs, UL enters the final weekend of the regular season with a chance to earn a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament from May 20-23 in Troy, Ala. For that to happen, the Cajuns (22-28-1, 11-15 Sun Belt) need to win at least two of three games at fifth-place New Orleans (22-30, 12-15) to finish among the league's top eight teams.
