If USC does get in trouble for this, I wonder how severe the penalty will be. As they are one of the TV darlings in the major sports, it is likely it won't be too severe. Of course if one of the mid majors or lower major schools were in this kind of trouble, the hammer would come down.

What makes this all very very bad for USC is that this has become a "lack of institutional control" investigation. This basically broadens the scope of the investigation to the entire athletic department and has very dangerous implications.
