The kid isn't going anywhere, he and his parents spoke with Coach Rob and all is good. It's not an idiotic rumor, just weeks after the fact.

Good to hear that he is staying, but one has to wonder if this will come up again if the team doesn't drastically improve next year. If the parents have already talked to Coach Robe about this, I would assume there is something going on.

From an outsider looking in, it just seems that Coach Robe has lost all control over this team for the last two years. I'm not saying that he has, I'm just saying that that is what it appears to be. Hope I am wrong.

I think the teams that are the best of his he had no control over, they controlled themselves.

As far as Les who knows why he was thinking about leaving. Maybe there major problems with is impending surgery or with the medical staff at the school. It could have been a lot of different issues and we don't know the details unfortunately. It could have been because the team was bad or it could not have been.

You are correct, and I certainly didn't mean to speulcate. Hopefully, he stays for the duration of his eligibility becuase I think he is a tremendous player, and we are lucky to have him.

Les Smith's mother is a devout Catholic and he doesn't drink. So imagine how tough it's been for him to fit in at UL. It has never been about this staff or program.

So he thought about transferring because he doesn't fit in with our players?

    Hell, I'll be his friend

I am also a devout Catholic who does not drink and I manage to fit in OK (at least according to some-others may disagree). Of course I am not a 19 year old kid trying to fit into the college culture.

I'll even have a beer or two with him even it's behind his mother's back.

"devout Catholic and he doesn't drink"

I thought drinking was one on the best reasons to be Catholic

Interesting take. You know I think highly of you and agree you are a devout Catholic. I drink to remain a devout Catholic. Amazing. Buit then I was drinking at 19 and I suspect not nearly as devout. And as I join the Medicare group, I plan on being even more devout and do a lot less drinking.
