My Top 8 National Seeds:
1) Florida
2) UCLA
3) 'Bama
4) Washington
5) Michigan
6) Arizona
7) Oklahoma
8) Arizona St.
Statically Florida is right now the best team in the country at a record of 55-3. Washington's pitcher was the ace pitcher for the Canadian National Team in the Olympics so she has big game experience and it has showed this season. UCLA is well...UCLA. With Kelley Montalvo and Charlotte Morgan leading the way for the Tide, expect them back WCWS with high expectations. Michigan is Michigan, they play in the Big Ten and the only competition they have in the BT is Northwestern who lost to by one run in both games.
In an earlier post, someone said that we could be going to Ohio St. If Ohio St. can get an 11, 12, 13 National Seed, the Super Regional match up would be a 5,6,7 seeds. Which looks similar to last season with LSU being 9th and Houston being an 8th.
Z, every loss is brutal. The Ladies have performed this way all season long, and they have been successful.
Yes, I too would like to see our Ladies perform error free in every game. Ain't going to happen...fax is fax. The best we can hope for when errors occur is that they don't cause too much "hurt". I saw the second and third game of the Troy series. The third game was "lights out" the way the Ladies played. It would be nice to have that performance each game....we would be a shoo in for the NWCS and possibly a national championship...but it ain't gonna happen. So, I'll take whatever comes along, and hope for the best.
I do like your last sentence.
Does Florida play a lot of talented teams? It seems 2 years in a row they have an unbelievable record. Not saying they arent deserving because they were definitely a top 8 last year making it to OKC. More commenting on how ridiculous their record is 2 years in a row now. Do they ever play west coast teams?
They play in the SEC which is the #1 ranked conference in terms of rpi, so that's saying something.
They also play very good defense, they are not really a team that scores a ton of runs.
As far as their our of conference schedule, they don't play the big tournaments like we do (Judi Garman Classic, NFCA Leadoff Classic) so really the only losses they end up with each year are in conference play
Can't deny though, they are a strong team
