MONROE, La.-Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns softball team’s final regular season game against ULM was canceled because of inclement weather in the Monroe area. Rain began to fall in the area between 3:00-4:00 a.m. and weather reports indicated that the weather would not pass until late Sunday evening prompting the cancellation.
UL swept the doubleheader yesterday against the host Warhawks. The Cajuns won game one 9-1 before winning 8-0 via the mercy-rule in game two.
The Ragin’ Cajuns secured their eighth Sun Belt Conference regular season title and enter the SBC Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Cajuns finished the regular season 38-10 with an 18-5 Sun Belt record.
Louisiana is set to begin the 2009 Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Wednesday, May 6 in Denton, Texas.
