I agree Cajun baseball has not been performed up to the standards we are acccustomed to the last couple of years. However, we have won 7 in a row against the Cowboys and 9 of the last ten. That's a pretty good streak as they have had some good players of their own in Lake Charles. Looking to the future, with all the young guys on the team, they have a chance to be much improved in 2010 if they can find a third weekend pitcher.
Personally, I believe we could do a better job of developing postitional players...with a few exceptions, we often do not see players come in as descent players and leave great baseball players as you have seen with pitchers in the past. Not sure if it is coaching or just the caliber of players we are getting.
Regarding last night, Lackie pitched a very good game, we left too many runners on base and I was glad to see the starting pitcher leave the game after allowing only 2 hits...what was the coach thinking!
Congrats on the W and good luck for the rest of the season.
Also, nice to read (in the Advertiser the game was well attended.
