Unless Broadway starts to loose it (mentally) ... I don't see HUD putting Haack in as a starter this year. Haack has looked good in the downs he's played but its been garbage time. Last year though he looked really bad when he took over for Bway. But he was a freshman, can't forget that. So I'm hoping Haack has improved his skills and will continue to. He is, it appears, the future for the Cajuns.
One thing I noticed last year when Haack got put in he was telegraphing his throws big time. His entire focus went to the one receiver as soon as the ball was hiked. Anyone on the field could tell who he was about to throw to. Now ... Bway is doing the same thing just as bad as Haack did in those games last year. Not that Bway was a master in that area, but he definitely regressed in that aspect. Maybe it was because back when he had Surgent and Peoples he had more targets so he wasn't as focused on just 1 receiver, I don't know.
The defense is bland. I was at the game and we rushed 3 and dropped back 8 in a soft zone coverage every play. I can complete those passes. When we actually blitzed the QB we got some pressure, but of course couldn't make a play. This cannot be our real defense. The only thing I can think is maybe we're saving all the wrinkles for conference play. Or maybe the defense and play calling is just that bad.
