Thread: Amanda Hill finally gets her recognition

  1. UL Softball Amanda Hill finally gets her recognition

UL - Amanda Hill is not a name that's going to show up in a lot of UL softball boxscores.

And on the occasion when Hill does get into the game, the reporter might erroneously refer to her as Amanda Harris in the story.

But make no mistake, the senior pitcher's impact shows up in every game.

"She is the heart and soul of this team," UL coach Michael Lotief said. "She's the glue of the team. She gives this team a sense of purpose."

    great story Brady.

Though she's fine without it, it's great to see Amanda getting some recognition.

Thank you for an inspiring story. To be able to accept her important role behind the scenes with no glory shows great character, especially considering her past accolades. Truly, it's a life lesson for everyone. It's great to hear you would like to stay in the community, Amanda. Thank you for four great years!

If you ever thought about how the Lotiefs have continued to have success with all of the things going against them just reread that article. You can give an athletic program all the money they want but if you don't have players like Amanda Hill, you will not be successful. The Lotiefs have fostered and nurtured this mentality. Why don't Amanda Hill, Brittany Cuevas, Hiedi Pizer (and the list goes on) transfer to to other schools when they don't get playing time?? Because they have a team first attitude and believe in commitments. Amanda Hill epitomizes what it is to be a Ragin Cajun softball player. What character, passion and discipline. Who would not want Amanda Hill as a teammate? If this is the type of kids the softball team is composed of, no wonder they compete on a national level!

Amanda doesn't really care about the recognition, but she truly deserves it. The story wrote itself, I just got out of the way and let her tell it.

The sports world needs more people like Amanda Hill.

You are right... but we also need more people willing to write a good story covering her contribution and other fine young people at UL. No story writes itself. For choosing to be there and "taking dictation".... I thank you.
